Construction for Swansea Pride is well underway, Today should see the construction of the stage come to completion. Pride is definately taking shape. Most of the site infrastructure will be in place by close of play tomorrow. This is most definately starting to look the part.
Ticket Sales are going great guns, we are constantly being asked to replenish stocks. Just a reminder to everyone who is thinking of purchasing their ticket on the day. Charges for tickets on the day will be increased to £10 instead of the presale price of £5, this is simply because we have to use some of our volunteers to sell tickets and then paid Stewards in their place, all this needs to be paid for so unfortunately this is why there is a higher price.
Tickets have been posted out right across the UK, and of course a heap load of them have been sold here in Swansea so all is gearing up to be one hell of a day.
We have got a wide array of information and commercial stalls all lined up to attend, THT, Sygnet and Stonewall as well as other charity stalls will be present, with commercial stalls such as Shrinking Violets (Tshirts that are "IN YOUR FACE"), Jewellary Fox, Pride colours (Pride related memorabelia) are just some of the fantastic commerical stalls that will grace our field.
Acts that are locally known and Internationally known are set to get the mood going on the main stage, as well as a dance tent (sponsored by club 2 ten and total sound and lighting) which will be pumping sounds by some of Wales' premier DJ's.
A quick reminder, due to our licensing we are not permitted to allow alcohol to be brought into the event, or for it to leave the event, Random searches may be completed by security. We therefore ask that you abide by this to try an avoid any disapointment upon arrival and departure.
Swansea Pride will be used to raise funds and awareness for Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) Cymru. Representatives from THT will be on the field with collection boxes, please give what ever you can to them as they do provide a fantastic service within our own community. THT will also use the day to promote safe practices and will also be able to give advise on most things that you may be worried about from Sexual health to Better and safer sex.
