Just over a week to go!

Swansea Pride 2010 is shaping up to be a roaring success again Whilst we are basking in glorious sunshine, which looks set to stay! Tickets are flying out at record pace. The Pride committee are delivering tickets on a daily basis, whilst demand in all the gay venues in Swansea is reaching fever pitch. The pride committee have made visits to out of town events, such as Bridgend's Gay Disco, Gay Ammanford and Ladies Evening in the Chattery. All of which were met with high excitement and anticipation. Check out the Performing at Pride page above to get a daily release of acts who have been confirmed to play at this year's event. The Wave is also playing adverts for the event, to South West Wales and will also be at pride reporting back to the studio. Our Pride Guides have been delivered to places as far away as Manchester and London. BARS We have a new bar company in this year following feedback from last year. NGN can produce 100 pints a minute if needed! Please note that we will be using a tokens system this year to speed up the service! FOOD More variety of food will be available this year! That’s about it people, please do buy your tickets in advance as they will be more on the day and the more tickets we sell, the more budget we will have to get extra headline acts!

The VK Dance Tent will now be in association with Total Sound Solutions The perfect sound for the VKend.. This year you will get a full 7 hours of partying with them through out the day of pride! After the outstanding success of Swansea’s first Pride in 2009, a great first year that saw over 3000 party goers revelling in the blazing sunshine, plans are well under way for a second event at The Lacrosse Field in Singleton Park on 26th June this year. Last year Kelly Llorena and Scooch topped the bill, with local and national acts also taking to the stage to entertain the massive crowds.  This year the same high level of enthusiasm has gone into the planning and execution of the main stage, with a current chart band in the pipeline and over a dozen acts already confirmed, among them a former X-Factor finalist and 90’s dance act Rozalla, guaranteeing that there will be ‘something for everyone’. For the clubbers out there, the dance tent will return with new and improved lighting and effects. The best local DJs have been lined up and will be spinning their stuff all day. This year the dance tent is sponsored by VK and they will have hot promotion boys and girls in and around the dance tent with loads of free give-aways. As a direct response to feedback from last year’s partygoers, the licensed bars will now be run by NGN Bars Ltd;  Operating on a token system and with innovative multi-pour dispense, NGN ensure a highly efficient service that will deliver well chilled, draught products and keep queues to a minimum. Catering facilities have also been improved to incorporate vegetarian options along with the traditional outlets.  The more adventurous will be pleased to hear that the funfair will return, hopefully with a few extra hair-raising rides!   As with last year there will be a charge for Swansea Pride. This remains the same at just £5 (that’s less than you would pay for most night clubs!). This charge has had to be imposed to cover costs and make sure that Swansea Pride continues year after year.
